Napoleonic Bench
The history of this Bench is starting with Napoleon himself, who was imprisoned on St. Helena 200 years ago. At one point he saw an English Chippendale garden bench and thought it was nice, and so he got one and sat on it when he was out looking out over the endless Atlantic Ocean.
When he died, the bench, along with his other belongings, was sent to Paris, and at one point it ended up in his ex-wife, Joséphine's, garden, Malmaison de Joséphine, which is famous and still exists. Mercygates have made this exclusive bench in seasoned oak wood honoring the history of the design with a couple of improvements. We made the first bench in this design in 2012.
